Hello everyone and welcome to the 116th Cattlemen’s Days! I hope you fall in love with this amazing celebration – just like I did! My name is Hannah Cranor, and I am the daughter of Walter and Margaret Cranor. I am honored to be the 2016 Cattlemen’s Days Queen and represent my beautiful hometown, Gunnison.

I am currently a senior at the University of Wyoming, where I am studying Agricultural Business, with an emphasis in Farm and Ranch Management. I am also pursuing a minor in Computer Science. Following the completion of a Master’s degree in Farm and Ranch Management, I hope to return to Gunnison to work as an extension agent while managing my family’s cattle ranch, Cranor Incorporated. Agriculture has always been a big part of my life as I was lucky enough to grow up on a cattle ranch in the gorgeous Gunnison Valley. My love for agriculture began as a child when I got to “help” dad feed the cows, and it continues still today. This love is second only to my love of family. I have an incredible family (I’m the lucky middle child of five), and I would like to thank my whole family for their support.  My parents always joke about having a whole hay crew in one family, and that crew has supported me every step of the way!

Living in Gunnison has given me lots of unique opportunities – from driving one mile down the road to snowboard, to walking outside to halter break my show steers, practicing barrels at home in the front pasture, or spending a Thursday evening square dancing with my siblings.

I also enjoy running, hiking, and working on my truck.

I have many people to thank. I would first like to recognize the men and women who are serving our great country – especially my sister, LT Rebekah Cranor. Secondly, I want to like to send a huge thank you to all of the amazing sponsors who allow Cattlemen’s Days to be such a huge success.  See you all for the best part of the year!

Cattlemen’s Days Jr. Miss Abby Rourke

Hi! My name is Abby Rourke and I am the daughter of Kevin and Chris Rourke, and the younger sister to Shaughn. I am in sixth grade at Gunnison Middle School. It is a great honor to be the 2016 Cattlemen’s Days Junior Miss.

My family moved to Gunnison when I was just a toddler and I have grown to love the western heritage and lifestyle. Much of my time is spent with my horse, Charm, as we build our relationship so we can work as a team. Together we have worked on not only horsemanship, but in learning the practical skills of a working ranch horse. We compete in horse shows at our local fairgrounds, and enjoy traveling to other locations. As a member of the Future Fitters club, Gunnison County 4-H has been a part of my life for four years and through it I have grown toward my goal of being an experienced horsewoman.

God has blessed me with a wonderful family and terrific friends.

When I’m not doing school work or riding my horse, I can be found shooting basketballs with my brother, playing with my cat, Max, or helping around the house.

Thank you to the sponsors and all the wonderful volunteers that make this event possible. I am looking forward to seeing you during Colorado’s oldest professional rodeo: the 116th annual Cattlemen’s Days!
